27th September
North Stradbroke Island.
Really.. an island getaway for all of us trapped up in our assignments.
Pristine waters, beautiful ppl, enchanting animals, breathtaking sunrise...
What more can I ask for?
Woke up bright and early at 5am exhausted but eggcited for the trip.
(Well, i prolly wouldn't be waking up since I went to bed at 4am.
Busy baking instant muffins. But sadly it tasted pretty artifical.
Shld have bought betty crocke..)
Caught the 6.24am ferry which takes us to the city,
hopped on to the 7.16am train which brought us to cleveland.
Than took the bus which brings us to the ferry terminal
and waited for the 7.55am ferry (Calypso).
When we finally got on to the island.. we took a 20mins bus ride
which brought us to our final destination. MANTA LODGE!
The place we call home for the next 3 days..
Checked in got to our rooms and the next thing we tot was food.
Heh.. hungry man.. had fish n chips for lunch and we headed off to the beach!!
OMG.. Lemme tell u, the lodge was only like 20s walk to the beach..
When we saw the beach we were like all sooo eggcited.
The water is really so blue and clear that u can see the bottom,
the sand is soooo soft... Its really like paradise!
Can't ever be compared to SG..
Its heavenly just to slack there the whole afternoon...
Took a bus for dinner at a near by fish and chips place..
The fish is..... But the chips is not bad though.. oh well..
Aniways.. took a 30 mins walk back to the lodge..
The stars were like populating the sky.. Sweet...
28th Sept 08
Woke up at 9am and prepared for another day at the beach..
Planned to loan the snorkel gear for a day and snorkel at the nearby rocks.
Went to the reception and paul brought us to the scuba shed to collect the gear.
That's when he asked the captain James if he could have a snorkel trip and he said yes.
So we decided to go for it! Be adventurous!!
There was a few hrs before we set sail so we went to "the point" where
all the shops and food is.. Walked 1hr and 15 mins to get there.
OMG.. TIRING!! But it was good..
Had succulent beef burger for lunch and good irish coffee galeto!!
YUM YUM! Went to the lookout where we can see good sunrise to take a look...
Zomg.. the sceneary is like unbelieveablely beautiful..
Than headed to the bus stop.. gosh we waited like 40 mins and the bus isnt here!!
We're sooo gonna miss the snorkel!! ARGH!
Than... our saviour came..
We saw a manta lodge van at the opposite side of the road.
And a hand poping outta the window pointing to us..
YEY!! ITS PAUL!! HE CAME TO SAVE US! lolz..
So we hopped onto the van.. got back to the lodge and prepared for the snorkel.
Its our first time wearing the full dive suit.. eggciting..
Than James gave us some pre-snorkel things to note talk,
"Take pictures and leave bubbles.." he said..
The power boat ride was like.. CRAZY SHIT!
The sea's pretty chopping that day..
Its like siting on a roller coaster! UBER FUN!!
We're like woah woAH WOAH!!! lolz..
Went for a snorkel with the guidance of James..
He is really nice lolz. got to see some fishes, crabs..
The bottom is really deep but we're able to see the bottom!
See how clear the water is..
Than we got back to the boat and another ride..
This time i sat at the front. My head was like a soccer ball..
Got hit on to the pole umpteen times and hit leen's head like twice..
Lolz. Painfull BUT when we saw a school of dolphins.. WOAH!!
WE'RE ALL LIKE UBER EGGCITED!!!!!
Got to the 2nd dive location this time its slightly shallower...
More corals.. and james lead pris on the snorkel..
She saw a leapond/zebra shark!! Sobs* i didnt..
After the snorkel we're like all tired..
Had maggi mee played dai di and went to bed.
29th Sept 08
Woke up at 3am to catch the sunrise.
Walk the 1 hr plus walk to the look out and wait for the sun to rise.
Was pretty disappointed a the start cause the sky was all brightened up
yet no egg yolk sunrise..
Than i saw it a darker patch of orange in the middle of the horizone.
Than it all happened very fast..
A tinge of bring orange slowly rising up from the horizone.
Rising steadily geting bigger by the seconds.
It was really intriging!
Taken photos we're abt to leave when leen spotted whales!!!!
ZOMG!! there were 2 of them sprouting water and one doing a half breach!
Cool stuff!!!! Than we saw a huge school of dolphins...
Argh... dun wanna leave..
Walked an hr back to the lodge.. check out..
Had maggi mee breakfast
AND we went to the beach again...
Tanned/dai di-ed for another few hrs..
And its time to leave..
SADDDDDD I DUN WANNA GOOO!!!!!
NONONONONONONO...
Haiz.. I'll be back someday...
